A small home with an intimate atmosphere where you are guaranteed a friendly, homely and comfortable environment, The Thatched House is a historic building of real character with its delightful thatched roof and original oak beamed ceilings and panelling.
On the ground floor you will find the well appointed, comfortable living room with easy to use high-backed chairs and plenty of entertainment including satellite TV.
There is never a dull moment at The Thatched House with many in house entertainments including movie afternoon, bingo, dancing, pat the dog, currents affairs, cards & board games. In addition we have special entertainers who visit the home on a regular basis. These include: Music For Health, Nocturn (soothing oboe and clarinet music), The Production Crew (who put on shows and pantomime), The Miller Men (music from the 30’s & 40’s), Andy the banjo player and Jim Ainsworth (All round entertainer)

The home provides many services for you to take advantage of. For those who enjoy being pampered we have manicure & hairdressing while keeping body and soul in together is easy with Chiropody, Physio, Dental Care, Optical Care, arm chair exercises with Activize and communion.



Our staff are here for your comfort care and convenience and receive on going NVQ training to ensure we can handle any eventuality; More than that however, they will become your friends and companions. To maintain our very high standards we take great care in selecting the right staff, our philosophy being to ‘employ caring people rather than employing people to care’
